16.11.2016 - Vision Stuttgart 2016 Report

3 days in Stuttgart, 3 days packed full of great discussions and meetings, exchanging ideas, project details and business opportunities. The Vision Show in Stuttgart remains one of the world’s best locations to meet our partners, friends and new customers from all over the world at a single location.

Products from our expanding A+ Assembly Family received again an overwhelmingly positive feedback from you. We are delighted that our goal of providing products which address challenges and problems before they appear is being achieved, based on your positive feedback. We hope this goes some way to reduce the stress levels associated with your daily business!

So, what was new this year?

We expanded our A+ Family with 2 new members:

Our A+ Type C Gen1 Assemblies made it just in time to the exhibition and will be available soon in cable lengths of 1, 2, 3 and 5M. As the development for Type C is ongoing, we are still working on longer cable lengths without compromising on the target of plug&forget operation in your application.

The Type C is already used today by 2 Camera manufacturers and is earmarked to replace the MicroB Interface at some stage in the future. By latest 2018, when the Gen2 chipsets used in MV cameras, Type C connectors will be mandatory.

As usual, we have tried to identify possible challenges in advance and pro-actively offer you a suitable solution, going one step beyond simply following existing specifications. Examples, such as tolerance issues between locking plugs and receptacles positioning in the housings will be eliminated using unique A+ properties, before you might be even aware that such issues could occur in your application(s)!

An initial introduction to some of the benefits can be found here. Please contact us if you would like to receive more information. Release samples are available from stock.

The first High-Flex optical CameraLinkHS® Assemblies were also on display, which combine longer cable lengths with an reliable optical engine in a future proof form. We have not exclusively paid attention to mechanical ruggedness,  but also dedicated ourselves to electrical robustness and reliability. Samples will be available by end of this year. Samples of the new 7down/1up model will follow in the coming months.

Finally, we also presented a new A+ Concept for Coaxpress: Coaxpress is gaining significance, but the number of different assembly configurations can become a pain for some users. We made a proposal to solve this challenge which was shown to interested partners and customers at the show. This unique termination solution aims to support further adoption of this interface.

So, thanks again for all the chats and discussions. We are really looking forward to seeing most of you again shortly at Photonics West in San Francisco.
